Join us for a full day of presentations about the pros/cons of technology, how we as librarians can better serve teachers and students who are using technology in the classroom, what free resources and social media can be used in the Children’s Room, and the ever-shifting world of ebooks and what you need to know for your library!

  • Cindy Wall, founder of the eTots program at the Southington Library & Museum will discuss the use of technology in the library and what role children’s librarians can play in directing parents on how to use technology.
  • Noreen O’Gara from the Bedford (MA) Free Public Library will be talking about ebooks, including what publishers are doing, how to build a collection, and just what is all out there!
  • Jen Reed, Newton (MA) Public Schools librarian, will discuss use of the technology in schools, what kids are using, and how we can all assist them.

A line-up of youth service librarians from all over New England who have been using free online tools in their libraries such as Pinterest, goodreads, Vine, Twitter, and more!
